WOOOOOoooo))))0000000 read: FUTURE POTENTIONALS FOR ASCII ART earlier this week, Anders Carlsson and I released a web version of a paper we co-authored about a year ago. the paper was included in the Computer Art Congress 3, which took place in Paris last Nov. ||||||||||||||||||||||______________________________________ we thought it would be a good idea to make the paper available online, in a format that perhaps fits a little more closely with the topic, than a print journal (although seeing in print is really cool too). ||||||||||||||||||||||_____________________________________ to me one of the major benefits of this version of our paper, is that it can link directly to the artists etc i think that makes a lot more sense. we did some minor edits to the text and added a lot more pics too!!!!!!! ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ the paper tries to tie together some threads re:histories of ASCII Art and their relationship to some of the practices that engage text-based expressions in contemporary visual culture, while considering some future directions or considerations. when i have more time, i'm definitely interested in writing more about this topic questions or comments - let us know!!!! read: FUTURE POTENTIONALS FOR ASCII ART
