some preliminary work on a new live audio/visual thing
have no idea what it will end up like, but getting started
so that's something i guess
will eventually need to figure out some good ways 
to get the noise style dithering from GIF compression
in the live environment
would also be curious to see if pixel sorting could be added
in a similar way
oh, and also learning to do this in max/msp/jitter using vizzie
its my first 'thing' made with that
any pointers would be appreciated

last week we did two performances with the dance ensemble here

have been developing a collaborative piece with
Ying XU - the current emerging artist in dance at penn state altoona
the performances are later this week
eventually i may have some even better photos to share!
my end of the project incorporates two live cameras 
one on the floor of the stage and the other just off stage
there are also some prepared animations - particles, facial expressions,
drawings from video footage, and a recorded solo
the solo was rotoscoped and then its projected small on a 'ramp'
then the dancer enters and does a duet with herself
then more dancers enter and dance with the image too
but that's ones harder to capture.... the images below are in order
although there are a few more parts not seen here

made some super crunchy pixel remix of 
some of the previous databending/feedback videos
to some up the process - I'm making videos
then messing them up a bit or
building patches in isadora that use 
a feedback loop
eventually I'll start creating controls
and using these as new performance-based video works
soon I'll be looking for some sound collaborators
