TBA/BYOB Braddock

i had lots of fun last night out in Braddock PA
so much fun that my pictures aren't so great....
the event was at Unsmoke Artspace and over the course
of the night we had about 15 or more artists throwing down
all over the walls... some really great work
but most importantly - some really great people!!!!!

testing holo screen

been super busy but things are slowing down again
i had a chance to test something out - my holo screen
below are some pics which link to a page on my site with more documentation
and a video of what its like...
found that it almost works better with ambient light in the room
also can see through the screen partially while its projecting
pretty sweet if you ask me
I'm going to be working on putting together some show proposals

spent some time testing out projection for gridworks4000
the following images show projection on two types of screens - one is a translucent paper and the other is a panel of crinoline. very pleased with the potential for this!

BYOB Utrecht

some works of mine (gridSol-precomps and an excerpt of gridworks4000) will be included later this week in BYOB Utrecht. The event is sponsored by SETUP NL and will be held at Centrum Beeldende Kunst Utrecht on May 19, 2011.

BYOB is a series of exhibitions hosting artists and their projectors. BYOB is an idea by Rafaël Rozendaal. The first edition of BYOB was held in Berlin and it has been in numerous places worldwide since then.

made these while working with Lane Hall back in Milwaukee about a year ago. the animation is projected onto a wall on which is hung a composition made up of cut apart digital prints.

Upcoming in Milwaukee

Just a heads up, I'll be taking part in a performance event in Milwaukee on the date 9/9/09. There are 9 performances going to be taking place at the same time - 9 times actually... all centered around the number. I'll keep you filled in as I learn more. The above image is an example of the sort of thing I'll be doing, but it will be more intense. I'll be drawing the number nine constantly for most of the event with live projection and time-lapse capture. In the final stage of the performance (9th) I'll project the animated sequence and meditate on the process and whether or not I've revealed the hidden truths of 9 and achieved true "nineness".

The event is organized and presented by In:Site Milwaukee which sponsors temporary public art projects in Milwaukee. I'll keep you posted with more as I learn more.

And While I'm at it, I'm also working on another event in Milwaukee, scheduled towards the end of September. Arrangements are still being made for a video art installation of some sort to be held at Borg Ward Collective during Milwaukee Noise Festival which has been happening every year for quite awhile... it promises to be another interesting event. As a side note, the Borg Ward has a new message board, which might prove to be a useful networking tool for the space as it offers both art and music regularly.
