gridworks exhibition opening

I posted about this a few weeks ago - the show opens this Thursday evening in Altoona, PA. I'll be installing this week and will post a few installation shots. I'm excited to try out a new video projection. In addition, this will be a show that will include a lot of digital prints. Probably the most that I've ever shown!

Byte Scrapers

The online exhibition Byte Scrapers at Unknown Artists Virtual Museum has included a drawing/collage of mine that was originally posted here "gridworks2000-blogdrawings-collage30".

I've been in another show of theirs, Pixel Project, early this past year, but am not sure if I mentioned it.

Phosphene Info

Here's some info on a project I'm working on:

Phosphene : a Video Art Spontaneous Installation at Borg Ward Collective in temporal accordance with Milwaukee Noise Festival. Old Televisions. Video loops. Art. Music. Noise. One Place. One Weekend.

Phosphene : both free-form and structured. It will display work that explores more abstract, distorted, mechanical/organic possibilities through visual/video and more. The installation will occupy the gallery side of the Borg Ward venue and will provide a visual counterpart/doppelganger for the sound performances of Milwaukee Noise Festival. Users/viewers will be in for a weekend of visual and auditory overload.

Phosphene : a ring or spot of light produced by pressure on the eyeball or direct stimulation of the visual system other than by light.

Update: Flickers of Recognition Exhibition

Some shots from the exhibition that opened this past weekend up in Door County, Wisconsin. A panorama of the show here, it probably won't fit in the format of this blog. Other artists in the show were Marc Tasman, Renato Umali, and James Barany. It was a great show and interesting to see people look at digital media for what seemed like the first time ever in a gallery setting. Thanks James for the heads up on this show!
